Hi all,
How many RCA pre-amp outputs in an mp3/cd tuner are required to connect a system consisting of 2 pairs of speakers, an amplifier and a subwoofer enclosure? (If my amp has 4 channels)

As in, do i connect speakers and subs to the amp and then connect amp to the headunit or can i connect a pair of speakers and a sub to amplifier and then connect other pair + the amp itself to the headunit???

With a 4-channel amp, you'll probably want to run the front speakers from 2 of the amp channels, run the rear speakers from the head unit's speaker outputs, and bridge the remaining two amp channels for the subwoofer.

To do this you'd want a head unit with at least front and rear pre-amp outputs. Ideally you want front, rear and subwoofer outputs so that you can adjust the subwoofer volume from the head unit.

You'll end up with:
-front speakers connected to amplifier, through the head unit's front pre-outs;
-rear speakers connected to the deck
-subwoofer connected to the amplifier, through the rear or subwoofer pre-outs.
