Depending on your kind of problems with BT, usually they are the best provider if you do not count restrictions of service.
Pipex is a very good one, Connection and support, so is AOL yet as much as general support is good, they are with lower value of support if things get nasty with line problems or Noise on the link.
If you are in a Cable network area, Virgin (NTL + Telewest) are great providers, good speed and hardly a problem they won't fix ASAP for you.
So, depending on what exactly are your problems with BT (other than their prices), you need to research who provides best the specific service you are after...

UK Online - best prices for speed around. Very competitive and can be matched against Telewest broadband (the trendiest broadband company around with the fastest download speeds). If you want unlimited download limits and high boradband speeds though, I recommend Wanadoo or Orange (same company). Best deals around.

Depend on where you are, if you can get cable, Telewest is a good choice (not their ADSL which is not that good)
Also depend on what problem you are having, if its just the service, then change to a new company will help, but if you have a line problem, changing to a new company wont make much difference.

Choose Time Warner Cable (Through Earthlink or Road Runner). They have blazing speeds and i have never had problems with them.
