Yes, daily water changes. Change 25% of the water every day to prevent ammonia problems until you can get your new filter. If you have an air pump use it to help aerate the tank. Of course, if you have an air pump, you can build a simple sponge filter to help even more until you get a power filter back on the tank. Just google DIY sponge filters for tons of different ways to make them.

If you have an air pump here's two more ideas. One, if the filter pad from your filter is still wet, wrap the floss part around the air stone and place it in the bottom of your tank. Use a little gravel to hold it down. This will make use of some of the bacteria from that filter pad and help control the water quality.

Second, you could use a small plastic cup or a soda bottle to make a filter. Poke hole in the sides and put in about 1/2 inch of gravel. Then put the air stone on top and cover that with another inch or so of gravel and place the whole thing in the tank. The air flow will make water move through the gravel and more bacteria will grow on that gravel to make a biological filter.

Either of these will go a long way to keeping your fish safe until you get a power filter and if you already have the air pump you should have everything you need to make one.
