My dog LOOOOVES to lick my hands when I go outside with him. He's very sweet and I like that about him, but no one else in my family likes the kisses. Is there a humane and maybe fun way to keep him from licking? I NEED THE DOG WHISPERER!!!!!!

Tell your family to spray bitter apple spray on their hands if they dont liked being licked. ( Available at any pet shop)

One way to keep a dog from eating or licking something you do not want him to is to use a very spicy hot sauce. DO NOT use a lot of it- it will upset his stomach if you do, but use just enough to make your point. The burn in his mouth will make him think twice about licking hands afterward, and if he doesn't learn the first time, he will learn sooner or later. I would use something like Endorphin Rush, that is all spice and no taste- sometimes if you use a GOOD hot sauce, the dog won't mind the spicy kick if he likes the flavor.

Sure, no problem. When the dog starts to lick your hands, push its muzzle away and say "leave it". If you and your dog had been to obedience training you would have and understanding about dog behavior, and the tools to correct bad behavior.

I LOVE it when my chihuahua licks me. OK. first of all, does this only occur when you guys are outiside?, if so, maybe he is thirsty. If he does it indoors, it means that he like you and he wants to have a scent on you so he can know that he was there with you. (That is what my pup does) Or he loves you so very much!

they have sour apple spray that dogs think tastes bitter so they wont lick thing that have been sprayed with it. I doesnt hurt the dog and is pretty safe to spray on about anything. Most pet stores should have it
