Just about any 'prenatal' vitamin should do just fine. I took 'materna', available over-the-counter here. What you're looking for mainly is low vit.A, high folic acid, and iron. Your doctor may later advise you to take iron supplements, in which case look for 'slow-FE', it'll upset your stomach less, increase absorbtion, and be easier on your bowels than just popping an iron pill.
If you do get morning sickness, sometimes sour stuff helps. I sucked on sour skittles, lemons, limes, green apples...
Don't freak out if you spot a little.
Don't worry about every little 'do' and 'dont' of pregnancy.
Go to www.babycenter.com, sign up and find your 'birth club' (month that you're due) bulletin board. I found amazing support there, and we made a 'first time mom's club' that still hangs out online.
Enjoy, and congrats!

The best prenatal vitamin would be the one prescribed by your doctor. They are better than the over the counter because they contain more folic acid. I've been on Natatab for the last 5 months and haven't had any problem with it.
Your morning sickness probably won't start until you're about 6 to 8 weeks along, but it's hard to say how bad, or not so bad it'll be. I had constant nausea, but no vomitting for 3 months with my first, a girl, and one month worth of nausea with this one, a boy.
Congratulations and good luck! Get plenty of rest!

I was taking precare prenatal, and they discontinued them so the doc prescribed 2 others and they made me vomit, only time I got sick during my pregnancy and it was toward the end. So I switched to a brand of prenatals I found at walmart and they work find and hardly cost anything compared the the $30 I had been shelling out for the others, since my insurance doesn't cover prenatals. Still on them since I'm lactating.
I didn't start getting nauseous till about 9-12 weeks. And even then it wasn't that bad so long as I nibbled throughout the day.

First of all Congrats! I'm went to the Dr when I was 4 weeks pg and they gave me an RX for prenatal vitamins. I just found out 2 weeks ago. That is great that you have not had any morning sickness. I have been sick since pretty much day one and this is my third, by far the worse.

For the vitamin, Flinstone vitamins are the best for prenatal. You OBGYN my prescribe a vitamin for you. Some of the ones prescribed are very strong and can cause you to feel ill, I took Flinstone ones with all 3 of my children.
As for the rest. I was pretty healthy, the only thing I can tell you is in your third trimester you will be uncomfortable and get a lot less sleep... It stinks at the time but it is a natural way for your body to get you ready to get up with your little one.
Congrats! Hope everything goes good for you.

Ok, the over the counter pills are ok, my dr gave me a prescription for prenatal vitamins...they just have a higher dose in them...but the reg ones work just fine...!! Ok I never had morning sickness or anything i was just extreamly exhausted the first few months....Just get plenty of rest and drink water...in the begining thats all I drank, but toward the end i did have pop..its ok (my baby was very healthy) I also ate what i wanted and everything worked out fine...You will read a lot of stuff that is not true... just always ask your dr if you have any concern and he/she will be glad to help you out...I know i always had a ton of questions when i went for my appts.! its ok thats what they are there for!! Um... you will have to pee in a cup everytime you go to the dr which gets really hard the bigger you get...just relax and enjoy your changing body!! CONGRATS!!!

Well just let you Dr. prescribe you your prenatal vitamins. and as far as throughout your pregnancy, You need to go pick up the book: "What to expect while you're expecting". I followed it pretty much to a tee and it was the best think I ever did. I was just like you...no morning sickness or nothing. But my son was the best baby. No trouble at all. Because I followed it even after I had him. It helped with everything. Good luck!

When I called my doctor after I took my HPT and it was positive he called in a prescription for pre-natal vitamins even though my appointment wasn't going to be until I was 8 weeks (I was 4 weeks when I got the positive). I have never taken any prenatals that weren't prescribed.

Get a prescription from your doctor for the prenatal vitamin.
Each pregnancy is different, so everything you read from your answers may or may not happen to you.
My first pregnancy and my second were COMPLETELY different. (as were the births, and the children, now 7 and 9 1/2).
Good Luck.

Congrats!!!
I just found out this week that I am 6 weeks with baby #1! So I have no advice for you! But I just wanted to say Congrats! My doctor gave me a RX for Neevo... a new prenatal vitamin. Take them at night right before you go to bed... sometimes they can make your stomach upset!
Good luck & Best Wishes!
