They can be found anywhere, but in most spiral galaxies they're most often found in and around the central bulge of such galaxies. This is where the highest concentration of very old stars is located and nebulae consist mostly of gas and other stellar material blown off from the deaths of old stars.

Planetary nebulae and supernova remnants can be found throughout the galaxy. Giant molecular clouds, both bright and dark, will found mostly in the spiral arms.

Hi. There are different types. Gaseous nebula can be found around dying stars and in star forming regions. Globular clusters, although not technically a nebula, are found in the galactic 'halo'.
