Is there a chemical or something that can destroy salt?

You cannot destroy matter, however you can change it into something else. Table salt (NaCl) will dissociate into Na+ and Cl- ions in water.

I think an electric arc can vaporize salt, after all it can vaporize a diamond like it wasn't even there.

MataHari is right. Award her full points. One way to "destroy" salt is to electrolyze it to NaOH solution and H2 and Cl2gas.
