Judging by the answers so far...it appears no one watched these movies.
Deep Impact....the source material is a bit more realistic and the storyline is not a flamboyant as Armageddon's.

Both scenarios are highly improbable if not downright impossible. I liked Armageddon better for its comic relief (I'm also a Bruce Willis fan). The depiction of the impact in Deep Impact was woefully inadequate. If you get a chance, read Lucifer's Hammer by Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle.

I liked Deep Impact a lot better than Armageddon. It also had one of the greatest lines I can remember in a movie. When the astronauts realized, without actually saying it, that the only way they could save earth was to fly the ship into the comet, (committing suicide), after a moment of heavy silence the woman astronaut commented, "Look on the bright side. We'll all have high schools named after us."
POW! Who wrote that?!

the two videos have been particularly poor yet Armageddon would win this palms down. It in keeping with hazard knows its tacky and does not attempt to place on the dramatic tone as thick as Deep impact. only the finished way that Ben Affleck is able to start up his very own drilling enterprise in under a pair of days is super. upload to that the action picture is going for the extra action perspective and makes it extra convenient to observe. Deep impact has some scenes yet returned takes itself too extreme. i got here across the subplots with Tea Leoni and Leelee Sobieski only a approaches complicated and distracting. They act so over the suitable approximately their circumstances and you only do no longer care. a minimum of in Armageddon it saved it gentle in that section. particular the Bruce Willis, Liv Tyler and Ben Affleck trio become annoying and how Affleck is going all blubbery for Willis. Ohhhh No!!!! however the main important difference, Armageddon had Steve Buscemi. i do no longer think of i'm able to ever bypass against a action picture with Buscemi.

The comic relief in Armageddon was much better than deep impact, id have to agree
as to the methods to kill the asteroids...well
Armageddon had the crews drilling an 800 foot deep hole...in an asteroid the size of Texas. personally in order to shatter a mass that big may have taken a deeper hole.
the use of self digging nuclear weapons in deep impact...naw. i don't know how such a device could be powered to dig its way in..plus the dirt does have to go somewhere.
Both are really good movies in their own way...as entertainment.

Armageddon is an event and deep impact is an object so you can't really compare.

Armageddon is the war of the great day of God the Almighty.
God will not let men ruin the earth. Armageddon is not a war of men. "The earth is firmly established and cannot be made to totter." - Ps. 96:10.
"Hope in Jehovah and keep his way, and he will exalt you to take possession of the earth. When the wicked ones are cut off, you will see it."
The world will not be destroyed by Armageddon. The purpose is to crush and put an end to all other governments and god's kingdom will stand to time indefinite.
Then the meek ones will inherit the kingdom.
"Seek Jehovah, all you meek ones of the earth, who have practiced His own judicial decision. Seek righteousness, seek meekness. Probably you may be concealed in the day of Jehovah's anger." - Zeph 2:3
"Those slain by Jehovah will certainly come to be in that day from one end of the earth clear to the other end of the earth." - Jer 25:33
"Just as the days of Noah were...they took no note until the flood came and swept them all away, so the presence of the son of man will be." - Matt 24:37-39
"He that is not on my side is against me, and he that does not gather with me scatters." - Matt 12:30
"The great day of Jehovah is NEAR. It is near and there is a hurrying of it very much. The sound of the day of Jehovah is bitter. There a mighty man is letting out a cry. That day is a day of fury, a day of storm and of desolation, a day of darkness and of gloominess, a day of clouds and of thick gloom, a day of horn and of alarm signal, against the fortified cities and against the high corner towers. And I will cause distress to mankind and they will certainly walk like blind men because it is against Jehovah that they have sinned. And their blood will actually be poured out like dust, and their bowels like the dung. Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them in the day of Jehovah's fury but by the fire of his zeal the whole earth will be devoured because he will make an extermination, indeed a terrible one, of all the inhabitants of the earth. Gather yourselves together, yes, do the gathering. O Nation not paling in shame. Before the statute gives birth to anything before the day has passed by just like chaff, before there comes upon you people the burning anger of Jehovah, before there comes upon you the day of Jehovah's anger. Seek Jehovah all you meek ones of the earth who have practiced his own judicial decision. Seek righteousness. Seek meekness. Probably you may be concealed in the day of Jehovah's anger. - Zeph 1:14-18 - Zeph 2:1-4
