How do you pronounce the word toilet?

I've always pronounced it, "'twah-lay," with a slight lisp on the, 'l' but recently i've noticed that some people look at me funny when I say this. What is the correct pro-noun-see-ay-see-ohn of this word? (p.s. I am from Kentucky)

and we say toilet like 'oil' with a 't' at the front and 'let' at the back.

Since you have a southern accent. Linguistics would suggest to compensate for the lisp you not say the letter that will lead to it. Try: DOY - LET .. The D will come out as a T for you. Try it and see what happens.
