By definition, humans are smart at math.
Did you know that you can put a baby facing a screen and put three dolls behind the screen one at a time. If you then move the screen and show that there are two or four dolls, because you've snuck one in or out, the baby will stare at it much longer than if you reveal the right number of dolls. The baby understands that 1 + 1 + 1 = 3, and if something other than 3 is shown, the baby is confused.
People who don't get math either 1) do not apply themselves or 2) have not been taught properly. There is nothing like organized education to make a child hate learning.
