Yes. I had just adopted a dog and didn't know she had a tendency to run away. She got out and unfortunately was hit by a car. I was trying to help her and she bit me pretty badly. I didn't blame her, of course, but my arm is still scarred. Before that I would have said I had been bitten, but I had really only been nipped.

Yes. I was bitten on my right index finger by a puppy, which is far worse than getting bitten by an adult dog. They have more rabies.

Yes. I had a near death experience...it all happened when I was 3. I was on the sidewalk playing with chalk at my cousins house....everything's fine, and they decided to go in and get a drink...I didn't go. So, I am 3 years old, sitting on the sidewalk alone. As I look up I see this dog next door pawing at the fence trying to get out..I don't think anything of it and go back to my chalk...next thing I know, I look up and I see this big black dog running tworads me and I just froze. Froze...done nothing, although I knew the scenario wansn't right, I was just sitting there in shock...the dog jumps o me, puhing me down on my back, he had so much momentum going form when he was running, when we touched, my head flew back and my head went straight to concrete...at this time I am not consious, and he is attacking me...he literally took off the whole right side of my cheek, a chunk of my arm, thigh, and head...laying in a ocena of blood, my cousins finally arrive back outside, seeing that I look dead...they rushed me to the hostital and the neighbors beside my couins found my face (yes, found my face) and put it in a zipploc baggie on ice, and rushed it to Kosair's. At this time, my mom had no clue, my uncle called her and told her, being scared to death she drops everything and speeds to the hospital (getting to tickets on the way there) an d when she arrived the doctors said that I have a 1% chance of living....she broke down of course....and she couldn't see me for 2 days because I looked so bad. (I know this is long, but bear with me) The next day, she was coming up the elevator, and the man next to her had a bucket of leaches, adn my mom asked what is he doing with those, and he replied that it was requested for a little girl in ICU. My mom curious, asked if the little girl was attacked by a dog..and he said yes....she freaked...not knowing why leaches were going to her baby girl...the doctor finally released the info and said that they will put leacehs on my face to help the growth of bacteria and to clean the blood...gross, eh? (Almost done) And so, I was in so much trauma and bacteria security, no one was allowed in my room w/o a full body mask. I had 2 reconstuctive surgeries and over 1,000 stitches....whew, freaks me out just thinking about it! When I was finally released from the hospital, I was the talk of Kentucky! (That's where I live) and I was all over the news, etc. I am scheduled to have another reconstuctive surgery shortly and ready! Right now, I have around 8 big scars...not to mention the emotional ones! Welp, hope you had fun!

Many times. But it's not their fault. Most dogs only bite if they are cornered, threatened or scared. I volunteer at an animal shelter and many of the animals that come in are scared half to death. They either cower in a corner or lash out. But it doesn't take long to become friends when they learn you're there to help them.
