There was a moment billions and likely trillions of years ago where all matter was compressed into a single space smaller than an atom total and the whole thing exploded outward in what seems to be an infinite expansion. This event is commonly known as the Big Bang Theory. Theory because it cannot be definitely proven. Scientists have used shifting of light as a way of telling whether or not we are in an accelerating expansion universe, a uniform expansion universe, or a, I believe a declining expansion universe. Accelerating expansion is where the universe is expanding at a rate which is slowly increasing showing that the universes expansion is infinite. Uniform i can't remember and declining (not positive on the name) is where the universe is expanding at a rate that is slowing at a constant though somewhat slow rate on this scale. this means that either the universe will eventually stop expanding or will stop expanding and implode upon itself again, proving that we cannot know how the universe came to be as there could have been an infinite chain of Big Bangs for possibly quadrillions of years. Thankfully, however, we live in what has almost definitely proven to be an accelerating expansion universe. The beginning and the Big Bang was most likely the work of God. I don't say definitely because something may have happened before the Big Bang that we don't know of and can't explain because THAT would have been the work of God.

existant or existance?
anyway,
There are many theories for this question. The most popular of them is the "big bang" theory according to which a big explosion took place billions of years ago which led to the formation of the universe.
Another theory, the steady state theory states that the universe did not have any beginning and it will not have an end.

No one knows for sure how the universe became. After all, we don't know everything.
There's the Big Bang theory, which was the most popular theory of how the universe came into existence. The question is, where did that incredibly dense mass come from?
I believe that there is a greater one out there; God.

Ther r many popular theories like BigBang,Microwave,Contracting Universe but none of them have been provd exact.......Still BigBang is d best of thm.......Evrythin has been compressed within a single point of source and wen it exploded threw up dust along wit matter..The mattr combined to form glaxies and the universe is said to be always expanding..........It was believd that this occurd some 13.7 billion yrs ago.........Big Bang has been found correct using Hubbles law but not fully satisfactory due 2 som inconsistencies..........

Some will say it is the work of God, scientists will support the Big Bang theory. I wonder though if such knowledge will assist the betterment of mankind, stop wars around the world, fight life threatening diseases, prevent global warming and eventually save the planet from complete inhalation?
