Does it concern you that the "average" American citizen knows very little about geography, current affairs, and many of the issues that have brought us to war? Does it concern you that these same individual's are allowed to vote in general elections? Do you think the video was biased and does not represent the "average" American? Overall what does this say about our educational system? What does it say about how information is filtered to the average American and how this information is processed?

Please forgive me as this response will seem a little arrogant.

There has always been an uneducated class. In the early Roman Empire, the uneducated were called plebs or the mob, they were kept poor and uneducated. This meant were easy to control and willing to do the menial tasks of the elite, farming, cleaning, cooking, etc etc. As time has progressed nothing has really changed.

What has changed is the way we now communicate and share information. Initially TV brought us information this information flowed one way and is always what someone else wants you to see and hear. The information is filtered, filled with propoganda and spin.

Every opinion you have has been formed by what information you take in and that information is always decided by someone else.

You might say that you like GWB but you don’t know GWB you only know what you have seen so what you are saying is that you like what you see about GWB.

If you dislike someone like Kerry i'm sure you recognise him as the flip flopper, we'll this phrase was coined by FOX - someone else decided what words they would associate with Kerry these words helped form your opinion and ultimatly where you would place your vote. Is this not mind control?

The Internet has allowed the flow of two way communication. If we are not lazy, and have access to a computer we can now go and investigate several sources from around the world to find out about stuff we are told about our world and more importantly about our leaders. We may not like what we often find, it may make you feel very uncomfortable but it will give you greater ability to make informed decisions about your world and welfare for you and your families.
News is now entertainment which is sensationalized to attract more viewers and attract more advertising revenue and no one does this better than FOX they control 75% of what you see and hear so therefore they control what you think – It’s called the manufacturing of consent – you believed there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq that’s why you were in favor of sending you sons and daughters to die. We now know that this was a lie. But your troupes are still there because you are told if you pull out the terrorists will win.

Prior to your invasion of Iraq the Iraqi people had never threatened or killed and American civilian, you now have killed 650 000 of their civilians. You have now created an enemy. The very act of taking your troupes to fight an Illegal war has made you more of a target than every before and YOUR GOVERNMENT knew that before they started the fight. They wanted it because it means now there will always be a threat and because of that threat you will live in fear. And because you live in fear, and not just of God’s wrath, you are easier to control. The plebs and the mob live on and the empire continues to advance.

To answer your questions:

Yes in concerns me that people live in blissful ignorance and know very little about geography, current affairs, and many of the issues that have brought us to war and these same people are given the right to vote.

Information is highly filtered and full of propaganda and spin and the uneducated will not know the difference it’s easy to lead a nation to war when the nation don’t care.

No, so much youngsters on the age of six have now not reached the concrete operational degree of cognitive growth. Thus they cannot feel logically. "In Piaget's so much popular assignment, a youngster is represented with 2 equal beakers containing the identical quantity of liquid. The youngster most commonly notes that the beakers have the identical quantity of liquid. When one of the most beakers is poured right into a taller and thinner box, youngsters who're most of the time more youthful than 7 or eight years historical say that the 2 beakers now include a further quantity of liquid. The youngster readily specializes in the peak and width of the box in comparison to the standard thought. Piaget believes that if a youngster fails the conservation-of-liquid assignment, this is a signal that they're on the preoperational degree of cognitive growth. The youngster additionally fails to exhibit conservation of quantity, topic, period, quantity, and subject as good. Another illustration is whilst a youngster is proven 7 puppies and three cats and requested if there are extra puppies than cats. The youngster might reply definitely. However whilst requested if there are extra puppies than animals, the youngster might as soon as once more reply definitely. Such essential mistakes in common sense exhibit the transition among intuitiveness in fixing issues and real logical reasoning obtained in later years whilst the youngster grows up."

it doesnt really disturb me. The average american is a product of an average educational system, that watches the average amount of TV per day, that eats the average McDonalds diet. Basically the average american isnt much. They are sheep and go with whatever the crowd is doing. If its overspending they do that, walmart they do that. Ask an intelligent question and get back the propaganda they are taught.

I think we are so fortunate to live in a country where all we have to be concerned about is our day to day life. I really don't want to believe that those people represent average Americans, but I could be wrong.

It's what Edward R. Murrow "feared" and fought against the most concerning television and the news, journalism, the media turning "frivolous for escapism" and not taking care of the important issues and people in the world.
"Desensitizing" of the masses, his worst fear is now realized.

Yes, absolutely it does. Hollywood has done a great job of disparraging "geeks" and praising "gansta" rappers to the point that kids now disdain education, especially science and engineering.

It all starts with the media. Then of course, you have the ones that only hear what they want to hear. End of discussion.
