How can I make friends online? I suffer from anxiety and depression. Is there an online forum where I can chat to similar people? Thank you.

I was hoping there was a chatroom for people with depression also , so like minded people could perhaps advise and assist each other. I suffer from depression and it can be a lonely time. Feel free to email me at sandrafoulkes1971@hotmail.com and perhaps we can help each other. I think its .com if not try .co.uk

First of all, don't pay any attention to KB, if what that person wrote was a joke, then its just out of ignorance. That said I found a web site that has about 5 or 8 different links to chat rooms for those suffering from anxiety and/or depression. I have suffered from both myself, and I know it can be hard. Good luck. I've listed the top 3 sites that I found. Hope these help

You know I actually found it helped me when I came on here and answered peoples questions, because I was feeling the same. Suppose it just made me think I was helping someone, gave me a buzz.

But I did go onto other sites to talk to others. It really helped me to speak to other people that understood how I was feeling and didn't judge meor think I was weak orpathetic. They NEVER said stuff like 'snap out of it' or 'what have you got to be depressed about'. I was lucky though as I got really good treatment and was in day care for a number of months.

Here's some sites that might be helpful.

You can send me an email through the link on my profile page. I am not on my pc all the time though, but will still respond to you and will try my best to make you feel a bit better. At least I can understand how you feel.
Take care of yourself xxx

Get yourself a profile on Myspace and/or Facebook and talk to people. You can talk to me, no worries. My profile is under geeky_but_brilliant. My boyfriend is painfully shy and suffers from depression and I've been with him for over a year so I'm fairly used to dealing with the problem. I suffer depression myself, but not anxiety, so can offer some empathy. I hope you feel better soon and make lots of online friends. Hopefully if you make contacts online you'll be able to have decent conversations on MSN and all that. I hope you're a good typer!! Do go on Myspace and add me as one of your friends, I'd like to help, honestly.

Hi There Knobchop,
You've been given lots of contacts by these lovely people!
But i think that you should find Professional Treatment.
All Doctors have special arrangements for people who are Anxious or Agoraphobic or Depressed.
The days are long gone when you were told to:
"Pull yourself together"
And "Use a bit of will-power"
Doctors really DO have a good understanding of your problems.
By all means, take advantage of the Internet and its many sites.
But, above all, SEEK HELP!

poor you, I'm sure they must be forums for you could chat to people on line.

i suffer from agoraphobia, anxiety and mild depression, you can e-mail me if you like then maybe we could chat on msn. My e-mail adress for my msn account is margaretwilliams_246@hotmail.com.

I will leave it up to you to decide whether you want to contact me, I have four children, so I am a mature person, so you may not feel like chating to a older person.

You might have more fun if you find a group that shares an interest of yours. Just type in whatever interest you have and "forum" or "discussion" into Google and see what you turn up.
