If it is not urine, it may be amniotic fluid and if so, you need to see your care provider immediately. If you lose too much fluid you could also lose the baby. Amniotic fluid, to me smells like ammonia. There is a very simple test to check. Your provider takes a strip of special paper and tests the fluid. If it turns a certain color, it's amniotic fluid. If so, they will probably do an ultrasound to check your fluid levels and the health of the baby. Please don't wait on this. It is important to have it checked.

Okay, my dear ... the 'pains' you are having are Braxton Hicks, and they are 'pre-labor pains.' The 'leaking' may be a tiny leak in your amniotic fluid 'bag' or it may be that the baby is pressing down on and occasionally 'hitting' your bladder. Your 'boobs' are leaking now because your baby is getting ready to be 'born' and your 'boobs' are getting ready to feed it right away. You aren't 'leaking milk' and you won't actually have any 'milk' in your breasts until about three days after the baby is born. There is a fluid that is like a 'super vaccine' in your breasts at first that your baby NEEDS to be 'totally safe' from early infections and illness. I hope that you are going to 'breast feed' your baby ... but even though the doctor will tell you that you MUST BREAST FEED IT FOR A YEAR (or not even START0 that's not quite 'right' ... I breast fed all of my kids until they were 4 months old ... then I 'set them on the floor' (on a blanket, of course) and they 'saw the big world' and that was the LAST any of them wanted of the breast ... so I gave them 'formula' instead, or 'goat's milk' for the one who couldn't take formula. Breast feeding your baby is the most 'wonderful' thing that you can do for both your baby and yourself ... and it gives a whole new meaning to 'erotic' since there is even some of that in breast feeding, but it's not the same sort of 'erotic feelings' you have for your mate. It FEELS GOOD and you will SLEEP BETTER ... and you should keep your baby 'beside the bed' so all you have to do is pick it up and put it onto your tit and go back to sleep, rather than get up and warm a bottle and feed the baby sitting up and then go back to bed.

Most babies come at 40 weeks, so you've got three weeks to go ... but they can come ANY TIME and can even be 'late' by up to four weeks! You need to RELAX and do some 'fun things' with your husband and your friends ... and try to 'take a walk' for half an hour every day, too, even if it's just 'walking in circles' in your living room. You should have a WEEKLY APPOINTMENT to see your doctor now, and s/he will tell you when the time is 'getting close' ... but YOU WILL KNOW when you are 'really in labor' ... and you will do EVERYTHING 'just right' then, because you are getting ready to be a GOOD MOM and part of that is being a 'good mom-to-be' now. Your question wasn't 'silly' because many women are 'too embarrassed' to ask this 'intimate' question ... but I'm going to say 'it's probably your bladder leaking' and not an 'amniotic fluid leak' because it's 'not a lot, just every now and then' and a leak from your amniotic 'bag' would be more or less 'constant'... and CONGRATULATIONS! You're almost there, and you are DOING FINE!

Yes, and if you're leaking amniotic fluid you need to go to the hospital right away. Don't take no for an answer. I started leaking at 35 weeks, and they told me not to worry about it and it's normal, but I started getting back pains, so I went in to the hospital and they did an ultrasound, and all my amniotic fluid had leaked out! So, they put me on an i.v. with antibiotics, and I started going into labor that night.

If you are leaking anything from your vagina you need to go to the hospital already. Especially is it's enough to go through pants. It sounds like your water broke and you need to go in because of the increased risk of infection to the baby. Go right away or at least call your doctor!!!!

Your fluid is leaking. You need to be in the hospital. Now that the sac has an opening it would be very easy for your baby to get a dangerous infection. You need to be in the hospital where they can monitor you and maybe induce labor. Please go to the hospital, like now. Good Luck, Congrats on the baby!
