When young, just about anything you give it - a good staple of flake or pellets, with frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, greens, etc. as treats. As they get older, they become more herbivorous.

i have a 5 inch iridescent shark.i bought 3 1 inch feeder fish goldfish by the lookes of it. it is not goining to be preaty

Well, as you are asking what you need to feed I'm assuming you have no idea they can get to 4 feet long at best and need to be in a tank over over 400 gallons. In a tank the size you have it won't get full sized and have organ failures and a slow and painful death. You need to feed it frozen foods and feeder fish when it gets big enough.

these are tropical fish so go with a good flake fish food. they also eat aquarium plants and there are frozen brine shirmp and blood worms you can buy at the fish store. these are good occassionally too but no all the time. frozen food should be thawed and drained as the juice can add to water contamination.

it's completely normal for a new fish not to eat. it needs time to adjust to it's new surroundings. new fish should also be slowly acclimated to your tank water, a large ph swing can be stressful too.
