You are correct in that Iraq will denigrate into chaos, infighting....etc when we pull out. These factions existed at the beginning of the war, and they were a good reason for not getting involved. Bush was blind to this (or didn't care), and now we are in a mess. That doesn't mean that the US should continue a failed policy and have its own killed as well. And, it certainly is not the fault of the liberals that were there.
The reality of the situation is that we should pull out in conjunction with a UN takeover. Unfortunately, no other country wants to touch Bush's mess either.

Everyday hundreds of civilian people are killed in Iraq. No matter what our military does, they cannot stop it. Our withdrawal will in fact force a political agreement one way or the other. Bush is wrong, our withdrawal will not lead to bigger chaos than what there is now. If Iraq becomes a militant Muslim state such as Iran then we will actually have a legitimate target that we know how to fight with our hi tech weapons.

Bush has already insured that will happen. No matter what, we will someday leave, and when we do, at a minimum, the Kurds will be wiped out.
Bush's own father warned in his 1998 book "'A World Transformed" that invading Iraq would result in America becoming stuck in a losing quagmire, would cost America its friends and allies, would weaken America's leadership role and effectiveness in international affairs, and would jeopardize our own long-term interests in the region - not to mention the disaster it would be for Iraq and the Iraqi people.
Since, Bush, Sr., as well as every non-partisan with any knowledge of the Middle East predicted this outcome before the invasion, the responsibility for whatever happens will always, rightfully, be on President Bush's shoulders - and all the blood (including that of the potentially of millions of Americans who will be killed in future terror attacks) will be on the hands of Bush and all of those who have supported his illegal, immoral, and incredibly stupid doomed-to-failure invasion of Iraq.

Don't worry, if the liberals are in power and force some sort of premature pullout there is no way it will be ignored. There are too many of us who will not allow that.
Especially if the aftermath is as you caution.
This is exactly why it will not happen on GW's watch. He is not a fool.
Liberals are so blinded by their hatred of Bush that they are verging on the unreasonable when it comes to the war in Iraq.

Do you mean take responsibility for making **** up so that we could invade a nation that didn't attack us all the while emptying our Treasury and killing tens of thousands of people in what is already a killing field?
If the terrorists will follow us home if we leave, what's stopping them from coming now?
Keep being afraid. Stay ignorant.

No! And whats sad, if the terrorists follow the troops home, and begin killings on the streets, they will blame G Bush again, because he started the war in Iraq.
The war started in the mid 80's and we have had almost 4000 attacks against Americans and American targets. They forget American history. Once we gained our independence from England, it took about 11 years for our founding fathers to come up with a document they all agreed and signed off on. The Constitution of the United States.
To think Iraq can do it any faster, is not being smart. Every terrorist we kill, is one less. Every freedom the Iraqis see they have, makes them less likely to become terrorists. The more jobs they have, the less violence we will see. The more they close their borders with Iran and Syria, the less violence we will see.
The Congress messed over our troops once, in Viet Nam. Lets not let them do it again. Lets support the troops, meet with the President and tell him to put forth a plan for victory, push that plan, and then pull the troops. Remove any restrictions our troops have and let them do what they are trained to do, fight!!!
