I don't know about others but hey Bio Diesel is in Europe and well you can make your own, why not tell the Government that we want Bio Diesel and if they don't do as we ask let them know how we feel by not buying Diesel and making your own.

Couple of problems, especially in Canada. First, bio-diesel is expensive; more expensive than regular. Second, it usually doesn't perform as well in the cold as regular diesel, which is a big problem in Canada. Third, we don't have the refining capacity to supply the whole country yet! Fourth, it is definitely arguable whether it makes a whole heck of a lot of difference using bio-fuels versus regular petroleum ones.

You should know that bio-diesel is sold in Canada and the US at a few stations. Also, bio-diesel can be anywhere between 10 to 100% vegetable oil; the rest would be regular diesel. The "B10" rating (or B20, for 20%, etc.) tells you the makeup.

We haven't yet because John Baird and Stephan Harper don't own any canola farms. Hopefully Bio diesel will flourish. We can grow our own energy but the folks in Alberta won't like that. Isn't Harper from Alberta? Bio diesel is more prominent in BC but not the rest of Canada nd they use 10% ethanol in gas in Ontario not bio diesel to correct one of the answers.

Government is not in the fuel business. There are probably private suppliers, if you look for them, just like there are private suppliers for regular diesel.
