My boyfriend is about 10 months older than I am, so he is going to turn 18 before I am. Would it would be illegal for us to continue going out (as in kissing, sex, and other intimate acts) after his birthday? I live in CA

Each state has its own laws. Some states the legal age of concent is 15. In many states, its 17. (Every hear that Beatles song that goes "she was 17, you know what I mean", they're saying she was old enough to concent to sex. I don't know what the law is in California, but really, there should be some law that if you are within 2 years of the person you're having sex with, all statitory rape laws should be ignored. But remember, its not a crime unless someone reports it. Unless your parents really don't like this guy, no one will complain about your activities with your boyfriend.

Technicaly illegal. Many young men have been convicted for statutory rape of their younger girlfriends at age 18. However, I think these were often cases where the girls' parents didn't like the guy and decided to press charges in an attempt to break them up.

Come on guy. no one is going to furnish a cr,ap a pair of 17 twelve months previous with an 18 twelve months previous. A choose could brush off it ninety 9 out of a hundred situations. this is in case you may get a rookie cop gung ho adequate to enforce it. Now 18 & 8, you wager the regulation could be enforced.

Intercourse and oral sex are illegal now, not just after he turns 18. (Penal Code sections 261.5, 288.) Is a prosecution likely? Probably not. But you asked if it is illegal, and the answer is "yes," from now until you turn 18.

You can continue to be together but do know that sex is a big responsibility. And there will be challenges you will have to face if the law does find out you two are sleeping together. Be together Dont sleep together

In the eyes of the public, no it wouldn't be, but in the eyes of the law it would be considered statutory rape if it were ever reported. If your parents ever get mad at him for something and want to report it, he would go to jail...but I don't think any jury would convict him if it ever came to that.

you shouldn't being doing sex and the other intimate acts at your age. you are too young. wait until you are on your honeymoom. i doubt it will be with your current bf. if you choose to have sex, you'll just end up feeling dirty, ugly and lose self-esteem.

I don't know the CA statues/law, but if your parents don't have a problem with it, don't worry about it.
