Reno was carrying out the responsibilities of her office when the tragedy took place. Why blame Reno when David Korresh had every opportunity to surrender or at the very least, let the children leave the compound? I am not saying that the people and especially the children deserved to die, but lets look at all of the situation. Reno had a tough choice and I am sure lots of sleepless nights over the way things turned out.

It appears Gonzales decided to fire people for political opinions. Were the people fired for failure to perform their duties? If so, then there should be documentation on why each was fired.

You can not fire government workers for the reasons of race, religion, sexual orientation, political beliefs and the like. Even the military can not court martial you for any of the reasons above-they can court martial you for breaking military law under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, but not for your opinions or sexual orientation.

So what we have here is a situation where it looks like Gonzales acted inappropriately. That is why he should resign.

According to his own testimony, he did not know what was going on. He is responsible for what his underlings do - right or wrong. He should resign for incompetence.

He should resign, but not for the reasons you hear about - he should resign because he lost track of his testicles (as did a great number of repubs)
