Anywhere in the Outback far away from people.

You have the best sky on Earth! 2007 is even better than other years due to the low-point in this solar cycle.

All you have to do is have no light in your field of vision for at least half an hour. That means turn off your car lights, flashlights, cellphone, watch lights, etc., and make sure it's a New Moon.
The view is best at least 2 hours after sunset.

But wait until July or August though. The heart of the Milky Way passes right over your head at that time.

And if you go on August 14th, you get to see meteors too!

Seeing as in how everything around us is a part of the Milky Way, if you just look up at the sky at night then you would see the Milky Way. Hope this helps:)))

The most important thing is to get outside the city, since light pollution will prevent you from seeing the Milky Way. I'd recommend travelling at least 50 km from the centre of any city.

Go outside when it's dark and look up.

As long as you can see the open sky.
