We have a large fenced in back yard with 4 large breed dogs. Obviously, there's alot of poop. What should we do with it all? Anyone else have the same situation? Serious answers only, please. Thank you!

The in-ground septic-type system is called a Doggie Dooley. I had one for a while and it worked pretty well. The only problem is that we had clay in the yard, and it doesn't absorb the broken down waste very well. Eventually the tank got over-filled because the ground couldn't absorb the waste anymore. If you have a softer or sandier soil in your yard, it will work very well. You also need to make sure you dig the hole as deep as it says. The only other tip I have is to buy a nicer scoop than the one that comes with the kit. If you get one of the "claw" scoops, it will be much easier.

With 4 large dogs, you'll probably need at least 2 of the tanks. We had 2 dogs (110 lbs and 55 lbs) and the single tank was pretty full. It's definitely worth it though. It gets the poop out of the yard and it's a lot better than carrying a baggie around and picking it all up that way.

I have a 100lb lab and I use to have a trash can just for his poop and would leave it out with the other cans for pick up but I got rid of it after I saw one of my neighbor's kids playing around it (he had come into my backyard for a lost ball and was curious about what was in the can). Now I started burying the poop along the fence and giant pepper tree (to keep my dog from digging near the fence and tree roots). I make a new hole every six inches and keep going around my backyard fence and the tree stump. I live on a corner and my backs into an alley so I just avoid burying poop where it could offend my neighbor.

First of all, what breed of dog do you have, or is she mixed. Second, you must take your dog out every day at the same time for at least half an hour, this will get her into the habit,. Third, feed her twice a day, once in the morning and again in the evening. If you walk her in the morning feed her before you go out, if you are going to walk her in the afternoon or early evening feed her when you get back from the walk. I don't think it is a good idea that her bedding is in your bathroom, can she not sleep in the kitchen. You could also get a cage for her to sleep in. You need to monitor her very closely and look for signs when she is about to mess and try and stop her before she does it. Do you leave her for long times during the day. Let me know how you get on. You can also consult your vet for help.

i have 4 dogs also and one is a puppy.i would suggest to fence up a area in the backyard bid enough for all the dogs and filll that area with rocks or sand and have the dogs stay there until they learn thats there spot to poop an d clean the poop every day.hey with 4 big dogs comes a big reasponability, but if you really care for your dogs then we gottta sacrifice alot of time but hey its worth it

I have 2 large dogs in a med back yard... i have a cheap bucket with a lid i use cheap 13 gallon bags doubled and every other day I place the crap in the bucket...and toss the bag out garbage day...I'd like to get one of those in the ground things its like a septic system. but we are moving so....

Also i lime the yard down bout every other month...it helps with pee smell. the only thing is u do a lite layer and hose down until there is not white left else it burns their feet.

They have metal boxes with holes that you bury in the ground with a door on top where you deposit the poop. You then add a chemical that reduces the poop to a liquid that gets absorbed into the ground.

Well it al depends. We throw it in the garden sometimes and last year we moved to a new house and I have not tilled a garden yet and I also have 4 dogs, so I ususally buy my dog food in 50 pund bags and so I scoop the yard every day and I put it in the empty dog food bags and put it in the trash dumpster. If you have bushes you could put it around them as well. My mother has a big pine tree and she tosses hrs under it.

i clean up my dogs mess as soon as she does it. we don't have a fenced back yard, so i have to take her out on a leash. i pick it up asap with a little sandwich bag and i keep a five gallon bucket with a trash bag in it, that is whre i dispose of it. when that gets kind of full, i just tie it up and put it in the garbage can. she is a small dog, so we don't have that much poop to clean up. in your case, omg, my family would be cleaning it up every day. i could not stand the mess.

well, get a pooper scooper

you're supposed to regularly clean your yard of doggie doodie anyways to maintain a clean & safe area for you pets & to prevent any diesease.

it's a good idea to clean it at least once a month, but w/ as many pets as you have, once a week would prolly be best

composting dog feces isn't a good idea because there's too much protein & not enough vegetative matter in thier excrement to support healthy plant growth

YOU CAN PURCHASE A PLASTIC OR METAL CONTAINER YOU INSTALL IN THE GROUND . YOU PUT THE POOP IN THERE AND ADD AN ENZYME AND IT ACTS LIKE A SEPTIC TANK AND REDUCES THE POOP TO LIQUID.
IT WORKS VERY WELL WE HAVE ONE AND IT HAS MADE IT SO MUCH EASIER TO CLEAN UP OUR YARD.
