Absolutely not.
You're perfect for your height.
Don't be put off by the girls who are stick-thin, your right, too thin isn't healthy.
Be proud of who you are, from what I can tell you sound like you have a beautiful figure.
Be bold.

This is an interesting question. To me the difference between "thick" and "fat" is in proportion or distribution of weight. Someone that has a big bunch of fat around their abdomen and waist is generally considered "fat" where as a person of the same weight but with maybe big thighs and legs or upper body may be considered thick. Unfortunately we don't have a choice in where we happen to store extra weight! (mine goes straight to the abdomen!) So, its hard to say whether at 5'1 and 120 you would look fat, it depends on how your wight is distributed. my sister is 5'2 and 120 pounds and I do not consider her fat. Also, having a flat butt seems less than desirable, lol!! Good luck in your new school.

Oh, honey. I have so been there...I grew up in Detroit and then moved to (what the US Census marked as the) "whitest city in America." I was in 8th grade, at the time, and boy oh boy did I experience culture shock.
The short answer is: NO YOU ARE NOT FAT!
The longer answer is: Not only are you a perfectly healthy weight for your height, but measuring fat in terms of pounds can be really misleading, as healthy muscle weighs more in pounds than fat does. Also, those of us that go through puberty earlier than their peers, are likely to weigh more, which is normal (putting on fat is neccessary for completing the transition to adult hood...especially for females).
Furthermore, young people are incredibly judgemental, but they are also notoriously insecure, and will follow the lead of anyone who acts confident and projects a sense of being at home in their own minds/bodies...so, if you feel at peace with your body, treat it with respect, flaunt your best features (including those curves), use it to dance and stretch and climb and act, are willing to be the first one to laugh at your flaws (clumsiness, for instance), but refuse to wallow in self-doubt and anxiety. your peers will assume that you know something they don't, and they'll treat you like the smart, healthy, sexy person you want to be.

Encourage yourself to be yourself. If you enjoy being thick and having what is called junk in the trunk and looking like Jlow enjoy it. And if you like looking like Hailey Berry, who is straight up and down do that. Be proud of who you are, and encourage the skinny girls to do the same

No you're not fat. '5 1" and 120lbs I think is a decent weight. It's just a culture difference is all.

No-one can tell you from just your weight and height. It depends how much of your weight comes from your bone structure and muscle and how much comes from body fat. Also, where you store your body fat.....it's much healthier to carry any excess around the hips/thighs as opposed to around the waist and stomach.
HTH : )

No, you're not. You sound healthy to me. Don't let those underfed girls and their unhealthy bodies make you feel bad about yours.
Go to http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/ and you can calculate your BMI and see that you are within normal range. So don't fret about it! Love your body for what it is and see how beautiful you are for not being super-skinny. You are worth more than that.

you are not fat. It is all about how you feel. If you feel good about yourself, then you are fine. If your friends think you are fat, get rid of the friends. You need to find friends that love you for who you are.
