~Well said, Crazy, but do you actually expect some kid to have the gumption, pride or sense of self-worth to do his/her own homework, and maybe to learn something (about the topic as well as about how to research and how to think)? Dream on - the "Gimme gimme I deserve it because I'm me" generation is here to stay.

it was the may of 1945 and it was celebrating the surrender of Germany. VE day stands for victory in Europe day

VE means Victory Europe and it was when the Germans surrendered to the Allies in 1945.
