My cat has a very fast heartbeat.

because they are smaller, the smaller the animal, the faster they're heartbeat is (in trend)
elephants have slow heartbeats
it because they have less blood to circulate, so it constantly has be pumped to used and reused whilst distributing oxygen

It's because of their very small size. The smaller the animal the faster the heartbeat. A mouse or a gerbil's heartbeat would be faster than the cat.

Because cats are smaller than us and have smaller hearts so it beats faster. The smaller the creature the faster the heartbeat. If it sounds even FASTER than other cats, though, it might be a health problem.

Becuase they are smaller in body mass than we are, obviously. To an elephant, our hearts beat very fast :)
