I tend to worry every time...especially when I meet new people...for how they will accept me...what opinion they have for me, if they know me from somewhere. I tend to worry every time I need to finish some task and get panicked.

I try to calm myself...I have results for half day...and then all the effort that I made to calm down...I bring it again and I get more panicked.

Thinking is a FUNCTION of your mind. The purpose of your mind is to keep you alive and to make you happy. To do this your mind is constantly on the lookout for things that might harm or kill you or things that might make you unhappy. Notice I said 'might.'

Your mind is a problem solver and is constantly looking for problems to solve (how to keep you alive and happy). Unfortunately (as in excessive worrying) when there are no real problems to solve the mind just makes something up to keep busy. If you not feeling happy your mind will look for a reason why you're not happy and then just keep trying to solve the problem to make you happy. It becomes a viscous circle.

You think you have no control over your thinking, but you are forgetting that YOU ARE THE ONE WHO IS DOING THE THINKING. YOUR THOUGHTS ARE NOT REAL....THEY ARE ONLY THOUGHTS.

Please read Richard Carlson's book "You Can Be Happy No Matter What." Carlson gives advice on taking control of your thoughts. You can control what you think about and it is not that difficult.

One thing that can help calm you down when your thoughts are out of control or you are worrying too much is using EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) or Emotional Tapping. In EFT you apply gentle acupressure tapping to specific body points to release blocked emotions (like anxiety). EFT is easy to learn (you can learn the basics in 15-30 minutes). You can use EFT anytime, anywhere for any emotional or physical issue. One basic round of EFT takes about one minute.

Please download the FREE EFT Instructional manual from the EFT website (www.emofree.com).

I learned how to use EFT last year and now use it everyday. A couple of minutes of EFT tapping really RELAXES me and helps me stay calm and centered.

You should make a list of everything you want done and do it. Cross off each one as you complete it and when all the tasks are done you'll be free of worries.

As for meeting new people we all are nervous. If they control your chance of getting a job then we REALLY are worried. Best thing to do is dress nicely, smile and nod your head.

Stopping drugs. How? Getting help. Learning what to do; eft? Stopping anxiety. Thinking positively?

As far as the meeting new people thing goes...either people will like you or they wont. I wouldn't make myself crazy trying to please everyone since it's not possible. Be yourself. Maybe it's just your nature to worry about things? There is no sense worrying about something that you can't control. If you can control it, do the best job you can. What else can you do?
