I like Life and Sequence(which is sort of a card game, but also has a board.) Good thing you said except Monopoly, b/c that is my favorite and I like to collect the different boards.

Favorite board game, huh? I wouldn't have said, Monopoly, anyway. Possibly Backgammon, though Chess and Go are right up there. So much depends on my mood.

I have a few favourite board games. It is difficult to choose just one. The highest on my list are Power Grid, Ticket to Ride, Puerto Rico and Louis XIV.

After Monopoly, I would say Parcheesi, or that one with the plastic bubble in it...

When I was young I loved CandyLand and Chutes and Ladders...

Checkers, chess, and backgammon, which I can play with great skill now....

Power Grid if I want to invest a couple of hours and think a lot
Settlers of Catan if I want something a bit lighter, but still strategic
Apples to Apples if I want something fun and silly
Quelf if I want something wacky and a little physical
