Contrary to most people's belief the biggest beneficiaries of Affirmative Action are 'White Women,' yet no one one seems to insist that every White Professional Female they meet is an 'Affirmative Action Employee.' Secondly, black people constitute only about 12% of the population in the U.S., could we really foist upon the rest of the country. Is White America, that fearful of and eager to appease Black People, that they would do something that is against their own best interest. If you disagree with Affirmative Action, you should take it up with representative, as it is they who are responsible for implementing it. Strangly enough, the majority(a disproportionate one) of policy makers in this country are still White. So really, who do you have to blame for AA, a Black or Mexican who got hired, or a White man like yourself?

If what you are saying is true Colin, then I don't want to hear any following answers rant about AA being Racist, only philosophically unsound.

I agree with you. Since it's founding, the white male has benefited the MOST in this country hands down! After almost 300yrs of being privelidged, it is necessary to balance the power.

As far as groups are concerned, we are the only nationality in the country who had their culture robbed from them. Everyone else ancestors were allowed to come here with their culture and we had our culture beat out of us like Kunta Kinte. This is a very serious issue that I think is ignored too often.

And please, stop comparing american blacks to the jews. After the holocaust, Jews were given a Nation where ANY of them could move to escape persecution. American blacks couldn't even get the 40 acres and the mule promised them. And the descendants of those who enslaved our ancestors have the nerve to complain when it's brought up today, like it had NOTHING to do with the disproportion of wealth in this country between blacks and whites.

Whites had more to do with the implementation of AA than blacks but when has that ever stopped them from blaming us in the past?

I agree with what you are saying. Affrimative Action STILL doesn't give anyone the proper pay being a white woman or a black person. You and I both can have the same educational background, but a company will hire a less educated white male with more pay. So you and I spent 6-7 years in school for what? That's where affirmative action comes into play. It is true that black people make 12% of the population, but 37% of that 12% are on Welfare. As it is that a majority on Welfare are White women. And we don't need affirmative action to help us get succeed?

I'm giving you a star.

Very well-said.

It's time they started to point the finger at the people who are actually implementing the law rather than those who are "benefited" by it.

Edit: I have to commend mac man for his bold, yet very true comments. You're very correct, my friend, those things are often either ignored or looked upon as though they weren't important.

Too many people refuse to consider the reason why there are so many poor blacks in America.

i'm for affirmative action; regrettably, I shown your assertion of certainty that affirmative action income white women and midsection type Blacks and fail to assist decrease type Blacks. I respectfully disagreed including your opinion yet agreed on your first sentence and/or assertion as a count of certainty.

Good point. Most people think that Blacks are the only ones collecting welfare as well. We get blamed for a lot of false statistics. This is what's wrong with America. Stereotypes!

contrary to popular opinion the argument against AA has nothing to do with race or gender. It is the philosphy behind it that people are disgusted with. It doesnt matter who it may seem to help because in end it only will make a crappy situation worse.
