The bearing itself maybe up to $20 and the sensor could be anywhere from $10 to $20 or thereabouts, it all depends but usually it's not that much... But you also need wheel bearing grease to pack the bearing, a cotter pin to replace the one you remove, and really get a new bolt and the little cap as well (they sell all this in a kit usually, 3-5 dollars or so).

As for the labor, couple of hours at the most, a mechanic probably charge you 50 - 100 or so.

btw, if the driver's side bearing needs it, you ought to do the pass side as well, then it is done and you can relax for a bit.

I checked the RockAuto.com catalog and the '99 Olds Alero Axle Bearing and Hub Assembly with ABS sensor is $95.

Here is a photo of it: http://info.rockauto.com/BCA/Detail2img.html?NATHF_513137_FRO.JPG&NATHF_513137_BAC.JPG

Are you talking about the full hub assembly and abs sensor? the front bearings cost $124.00 and that includes the abs sensor. That is the price online you will probably pay $165.00 give or take for them and labor is about $75.00 an hour. could be $300.00 plus.
