that they are the best in the world. If this is the case can someone please explain the following to me:
1: If the troops are so highly trained why do they kill so many of
their own allies in friendly fire incidents.
2: Why has nobody ever been court martialled because of this?
It's bad enough when the enmy kill our boys without us doing
the job for them.
3: Why have some of our troops been caught in pictures
carrying out degrading tortures on Iraqi civilians? What is
the point behind that? Don't you think that sort of thing just
perpetuates violence & ultimately leads to more of our boys
being wiped out, all for a President's phoney war?
4: Any chances of our troops staging a military coup? Our
country needs a regime change too & nobody else seems to
want to do anything about it. The last comment may seem a
little strong, but hey we've backed military coups in so many
countries around the world, why not our own?

Soory, I was talking about our US troops. I forgot to mention that!

I do seem to have stirred up the fascist here don't I? I think i'll choke on My Starbucks. I still don't think it's right that any soldier that kills one of their own, even when it's blatantly obvious they are on the same side, should escape punishment. No matter what some Meathead that sings songs about Eskimo Pu$$ieS might tell me.

BECAUSE
We have the least intelligent USMC ever in our history. They have lowered the score to get into the Marines to the 30 percentile!

An F is 59%---all you need to be a "Marine" is 30%!

1: If the troops are so highly trained why do they kill so many of their own allies in friendly fire incidents.
***pop your head up at the wrong moment - move to another position without notice - during a fire fight - accidents happen.

2: Why has nobody ever been court martialled because of this? It's bad enough when the enmy kill our boys without us doing the job for them.
***I would bet that the shooter will punish himself for life more than any justice system could. There *have* been some court martialed - cause they found out the incident was not a friendly fire - but hostile between the 2 soldiers. They investigate every incident - esp after the Arizona football player....

3: Why have some of our troops been caught in pictures
carrying out degrading tortures on Iraqi civilians? What is
the point behind that? Don't you think that sort of thing just
perpetuates violence & ultimately leads to more of our boys
being wiped out, all for a President's phoney war?
**Not a 'phoney' war. Just like regular society - there are bad people. Plus there are stupid people.
Ask a bunch of troops about the war - and the president - they support both. People that have been hurt so badly they cannot go back - they wish they could be fixed cause they WANT to go back....

4: Any chances of our troops staging a military coup? Our
country needs a regime change too & nobody else seems to
want to do anything about it. The last comment may seem a
little strong, but hey we've backed military coups in so many
countries around the world, why not our own?
***Who knows. We, as civilians don't really know what is going on. All the media shows are the bad things. If they did stage one, we wouldn't know until it's over and done. The new Iraqi government is happening - but people don't get that it takes time - esp when the 'party' now out of office doesn't want to lose the perks that came with their position.

Our troops are highly trained, they have to be with the technology now used in the military. They average military man/woman is more intelligent than the average civilian the same age.

1. There are friendly fire incidents. Things happen in war. It seems like a lot because that's what the liberal media is selling you. They don't sell a lot of papers telling you about the good we are doing like building schools, hospitals, utilities, etc.

2. If they killed or injured our allies or our own troops on purpose they deserve to be court marshaled. Like news reporters disclosing troop locations and movements. Don't see liberals demanding these reporters be court martialed.

3. Degrading pictures, yes. Torture, no. Obviously you don't know the difference between torture and a college prank. The prank it self did not cause more violence. It was people like Ted Kennedy going on TV and condemning the military that told the world that we don't support our troops that caused more violence. After all if we condemn our own troops then it must be OK for them to also.

4. The military won't organize a coup. The democratic party is doing that daily. Watch your liberal media.

We are the best military in the world, where else is there such a large all volunteer army? Putting that aside, friendly fire happens, it happens in EVERY countries military. You obviously have never seen how combat is, so many working units going at once, crossing paths happens. For your information, when mistakes were made because of stupidity, people have been court martialed, I have seen it personally. Those people in the pictures messed up, since when do we take the actions of a few people and say thats what everyone does? Does that mean everybody agains the war burns the flag and spits on soldiers? How about before you post anymore "questions" you word it different because many of the things in this are just like a slap in the face to a combat veteran

1) friendly fire is going to always be a problem,
2) I dont think its intentional and the guys conscious is probably enough punishment don't you think.
3) because its a war and just a few days prior to the torture our troops were willing to kill them. I find it amazing that as a society we believe that its basically a switch that you can turn off and on. Kill/dont kill torture or mistreat. Does that even sound vaguely rational. I am not trying to say torture is OK what I am saying is war is pretty much BS all around and torture rape etc are part and parcel of war. How can you actually expect a person to be willing to put a 50 cal bullet thru some strangers head then a day or two later they should tend their wounds and treat them like family??
4) not likely they are all deployed around the world. But it is interesting to see so many generals disagreeing publically with the Bush. I really wouldnt care if they did it for 666 days and gave the government to the newly elected president.

I'm not sure where you are coming from. War is war and stuff happens, always has and always will. Clearly you have never been caught in the 'fog of war' How can you gripe about 'blue on blue' and, at the same time ask why we don't have a military coup? Do you think it is more ethical for troops to possible kill civilians in the UK rather accidentally kill one another in a battleground? Your whole idea of military service and war generally seems to be the product of a skewed education. Sorry to be snotty but, as the mothe of a Royal Marine placed in this sort of situation, I strongly object to your attitude.

Wow!! The moronic, childish 'reasoning' of yours is baffling!!
Our military will continue to be the best trained and most disciplined, until Liberals take that away!!
As difficult as it may be to know some of these things have happened, if it were any other military in our shoes, they'd be killing and torturing POW's and other captives. Just ask the Russians, Iraqi Army, Iranian Military, and of course, what surely must be a close friend of yours, the Taliban!!!
You don't know jack sh*t!!

It's a little tiresome seeing Muslims on this website under the cover of a Western-looking Avatar try and speak 'reason'. It's more like a foreign countries' attempt at initiating social unrest at the very root. Sorry, Americans with the ability for abstract thought can see through this garbage.

The only ones who will agree with you on here are other elements of your outfit and those imbecilic, uneducated fools who vote Liberal, most likely Democrat.

1. Friendly fire is a fact and all soldiers know it is a risk and they take that chance anyway.
2. Friendly fire is a known possible outcome BEFORE fighting begins....occupational hazard!
3. These troops in particular, were following orders, something that they HAVE TO DO WITHOUT QUESTION.
4. REALLY? Do you really and truly believe that the USA would be better off if our military staged a "coup"? A coup would make you and I and my children safer than they are right now?

Stage a civil war as a protest, isnt that a bit modest?
Cant help agreeing with the split-definative, defining a war as one mans publicity stunt.
Will the EU Constitution when its outlined later this year forbid a political party the right to wage a campaign of violence?

Unless you are willing to serve, shut your mouth, sip on your starbucks and go to the mall and buy shoes with lights in them.
We are the greatest military in the world because we have much more to defend than any other nation.
Friendly fire incidents occur in every force.
Our soldiers get their heads sawed off by the enemy and you whine because we took pictures of them in their underwear?
What perpetuate violence is the fact that cowards like you do not face the enemy and "take care of business". There can only be peace if there is no enemy.

You just proved that you know absolutely nothing about war

1) War is moments of total Chaos, smoke, fear and confusuion. This accounts for rounds hitting the wrong targets.
2) Accidents...unintentional accidents.Being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
3) Some will use this type of behavior to cope with fear and stress. A way to get even for killing a comrade.
3a) Nothing phony about this war, Skippy....you are safe at Mommies side, becaues of it
4) Nope...Our Troops are the most loyal and best trained fighting force in the world.
