After college should i join the military or the police dept. With the goal of eventually working for a federal agency like ncis or the fbi. I have a history degree with a psychology minor if that helps. Thanks.

Join the military, when you finish your 1st enlistment join the police force! You get extra points on your police exam (I dont know what it is actually called) for being prior military (the job you did in the military doesnt matter).

I would say do a term in the military, if anything try to get MP because after your 4 years you will have the option to either get out or re-enlist as CID, which is like FBI. If you do decide to get out, then you can join the police department, you will have more rank due to your college, you will know about the job because you were an MP for 4 years and go through your channels to get into FBI and stuff.

Mmmm, try and join a domestic department. One of the reasons I left the military was because of the 'quotas' needed to be filled by female 'service members'.
It doesn't make sense when they end up pregnant and leave the service, taking with them invaluable training and training dollars for the sake of 'sensitive politics'. Just ask my non-military wife who saw it aaaalllllll happen!!
