To stop Saddam selling his oil in Euros and setting an example to other oil producing countries that they too don't need to sell their oil in dollars. Iran have now started selling their oil in Euros and OPEC are discussing the possibility of doing the same. Perform a yahoo search using the following terms

Do you really need to ask this question? How many times has Bush given us the reasons? 500? Maybe 1,000? It's time to just believe him instead of stupid speculation that it was for oil or something else! Saying it was for oil is like saying Bush invaded Iraq so that someday when he died and went to paradise he'd receive 70 virgins. Come on!!

The United Sates of America invaded Iraq and other bordering countries inn search of Al-Quida and Taliban terrorist groups. These are the groups that hijacked the two planes that crashed into the w.t.c. back in 01'. Saddam Husein also did not give up his cash of nuclear weapons when the U.N. went to dismantle them.
Nuclear warheads are Illegal!

Basically in a nut shell it allows the Gov. to have control over not only the oil but also to be a staging ground for a war against muslim nations for the purpose of a one world gov.

To depose Saddam Hussein and topple his government.

The reasons that Congress authorized the invasion can be found in the Authorization for the Use of Military Force that they issued.

Whatever other reasons Bush or others might have had can be found in their speeches, or reached by speculation.

Bush told congress it was WMD, based on intell gathered during the Clinton administration. The real reason was to get Saddam out of control and to keep the fight against terrorism on foreign soil not US soil.
