1st off I don't believe that it is the clutch system at all because it WOULD give some very LOUD GRINDING indicators that it is going out on you.
2nd, if you didn't hear any noises then it might be, but not likely, the drive shaft or u-joint, because if they go they usually go out with a very LOUD bang as your drive shaft hits the ground, especially as you are driving.
3rd, can you hear your transmission going into gear or not? if not then it is probably the shift fork on top but inside of the tranny or it could be the input shaft, not likely though.
Take it to a trusted and certified transmission shop and have them look at it.
Good luck and hope this helps.

you need to eliminate a few things to get to what the problem is. does the shifter feel like it is going into gear? does your clutch pedal feel the same as usual? If either of those two aren't the problem check your driveshaft. You may have a bad universal joint. It connects the shaft to the transmission. There is another joint at the rear end.

Is this a riddle? I guess it means it's time to take it to a shop. Without any more information, not many people can help you here on Yahoo! Maybe you could add year, make, model of the auto. Can you get it in to gear? Does your clutch pedal feel normal? The more information, the better. Good luck.

If you can't shift into gear, probably a bad clutch. If it feels like it's going into gear normally it could still be a bad clutch but also might be a broken transmission or stripped rear end.
