No--what they use for surfaces on exterior body panels to be blasted is "baking Soda", It works real well as a media for paint removal, doesn't need to be neutralized or washes (just dusted and tack cloth), doesn't warp , wear, heat , or buckle the metal. Do not use strippers or chemical removers-- almost impossible to get it out of the pours of the metal--causes bubbles and flaking later on.
Very funny "Van"--next time why don't you go to an auto body shop and ASK THEM. Nobody is going to dip doors and a main uni-body frame. I have at least 30 years of prepping and painting cars from touch up to complete restorations. If you figure out all that you will wipe out in forms of tearing apart, weather striping, undercoating, trim, acid priming, wash primers, primers, sealers, ect it will cost about $20,000 to paint the car.

The pros do a thing called "media blasting" which is essentially sandblasting but with stuff other than sand. The stuff is called the "media".

Except sand is very, very damaging to machinery. And it will go >>EVERYWHERE<
I once had to blast on the chassis of a car whose engine and tranny had been pulled. I covered wheels, suspension etc. in plastic to keep the sand out of it. I still managed to contaminate a power steering box :( and had to replace it. Immediately after blasting I vacuumed up the sand that had gone into every nook and cranny, and shot all the steering and suspension links full of fresh grease to push out any sand that'd gotten in there.

ok theres alot of bs here. ALLLLLLL blasting of shells nuts soda and such remove metal and they ALL can warp and damage the surface. and guess what they ALL can get into cracks and get to the engine, just some are less likely is all. dismantle ur body and have it dipped. any chrome plating place should be able to hook you up.
the walnuts do genrate heat and are bigger they just genrate less then sand
plastic beeds are about the smae bad have more heat and the baking soda is like sand but need more pressure.\
all of these mediums have pros and cons whats important is to ask ur shop what
THEY prefer. any shop will tell you chemical dipping. they all need to be sanded and preped but sand and soda are smaller and are harder to get out of the cracks walnuts and plastice beads of the chance of putting tiny dents in the skin (which are taken care of afer priming and sanding)
now chemical dipping (not brushing and cleaning) is the easiest and cleaniest way to strip paint but you really need to dismantle every part and body part and trailer it to a place that does it. NOOOO mtter what median u use u needto wash the parts with and wax and grease remover and a soap and water solution be fore body work and paint

Ouch, me and my dad want through that, I reccomend using a blow drier or something that would heat up the stuff that sticks to the car. But what I did was ripp the tape off. There wasnt any scratches al I did was wash the tape off with a good solvent to break down the stickey materal.

No It will remove the paint but it will warp and buckle the sheet metal and then it gets in everything the engine, the interior even your underware..To just remove paint you can use a chemical paint remover it doesn"t distort the metal.

You can but medium blasting (walnut shells) will not eat at the metal.
