Often I read answers like, "I would not risk my eternal soul making such comments against god."

This is tantamount to saying, "I would not risk having a team of pint-sized basketball players lick ketchup off my toes."

If you are not frightened by tiny, ketchup wielding athletes, try and accept that we are not frightened by the wrath of your god.

LOL.

but imagine one moment that you truly believed that. Would you not try to warn people about the "tiny, ketchup wielding athletes"? This is the tragedy and the comedy of religion.

Atheism doesn't have a belief system, only the opinion that there is no God. No my chances of going to heaven or hell depends on me. If my deeds are 50/50 good or bad then maybe your calculation will be right What do you mean in atheism. Atheism means that you don't think God exist. That is it. So what do you mean by "In atheism"? Who the F'K is we, so are atheist a group or something, a club? So you offering an alternative? An alternative based on what....hmmmm......oh yeah atheism isn't based on anything other than you don't think God exist. If you are Buddhist that would be one thing, but you are not. You are an atheist with no philosophy or belief. Even Buddhist have that. Atheists don't, maybe that is why they hang around them like lost puppy dogs. They need that sense of belonging. No you don't make sense, now stop hanging with Mary Jane before posting questions.

Interestingly enough, I'm a Christian, and I'm not frightened by the wrath of my God, either. That's because He is my loving and merciful Father in Heaven, and I am His child, purchased by the sacrifice His Son made on the Cross.

Same choice that everyone has -- ultimately, you will either face Him as a beloved Father or as a Judge, depending on whether or not you've accepted His Son as your Lord and Savior. I know which one I've chosen.

I'm not an Atheist, but I totally understand what you are saying. The people who say that usually belong to one particular exclusive religion, that is, a religion which says it is the only way to heaven. What they forget is that theirs is not the only religion out there claiming to have the only way to heaven. So how would they answer someone from one of these other exclusivist religions saying the same thing to them? They don't think about it.

I have no fear of gods because I understand they are mythical but I know there are plenty of small basketball players out there and I really don't like ketchup.

Telling an atheist that s/he is missing out on eternity with their invisible friend is like telling a man who's just crawled out of the Sahara on hands and knees that he may not have a peanut butter sandwich.

One could wish for the existence of such understanding, but it is no more likely than an understanding of the vacuity of religious beliefs generally.

Atheists try to be afraid only of real things that are worth being afraid of.

Imaginary fears are a waste of good worrying effort.
