Possible good deal on a 1996 Cadillac Deville?

Trans wont shift above third. Any experience out there? Am willing to take it to my mechanic. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience.

More than likely the bands are burnt.At normal mileage and good condition.This vehicle is still worth up to $7,000.00 So take it from there.

Steer clear of it, it is gonna need a trans, Not a fun job and very expensive!!
