I like to surf the net a lot and likes to rest the lappy on my lap. Since i'm now 11 wks preg, i'm not sure whether the emitted rays/heat will affect the foetus.

NO. Laptops have LCD (liquid crystal) monitors. It is completely harmless. There are no "rays" emitted. And if you can stand the heat it radiates (it's not burning you) it's fine with the little one as well. Don't worry you will both be fine :).

God I hope not I do it all the time. My pregnancy seems to be going well so far and also no doctor has advised me against and I didn't a google search and no its not a threat.

I don't know if there is any hard scientific evidence to support that claim, but I wouldn't put your laptop in your lap anymore just to be safe. They do have a tendency to get hot, and anything pushing down on your uterus isn't a good thing. Put the laptop on the table and surf the net to your heart's content. :)
