Are you trying to grow out helathy hair before cutting off the fried stuff? This won't work, by the way. If you're hair is fried at the ends, it won't be long before it works it's way up to the healthy stuff and ruins that too. Especially if it's split ends. Your hair grows faster if it's trimmed regularly, because there is less and less unhealthy stuff to suck the life out of the healthy hair. Also, it depends on the person as to how fast or slow your hair grows. My hair grows about 1 1/2" a month, my little sister who is six has been growing her hair since birth and it's barely past her shoulders. That's like an inch a year! So it varies from person to person. But like I said, it will grow faster if you have it trimmed avery 4-8 weeks depending on how fast it grows and how damaged it is. I had let my hair go with no trims for two and a half years, and it was so fried that they had to take half of it off and it was down to my waist. Then I couldn't afford a trim or find the time with two young children and didn't get it cut again for about a year and a half and also, the same thing, it wsa down to my waist and they had to take at least 7" off. BUT, after the 7" was off, my hair started growing like 2" a month, no joke, and it has only taken me 6 months to grow all of that and then some back. I'm not sure if there are any natural thinga that you can take besides Iron. Iron will make it nice and strong, too.

About a 1/8 to1/4 of an inch a month. There are healthy hair vitamins you can take, but it takes a while for them to work. Just keep your hair conditioned and trimmed/nipped on the ends every 6 to12 weeks to keep it from splitting up the hair shaft. This depends on how damaged it is or if you have fine hair (6-8 wks) or coarse hair (8-12 wks). Hope this helps!

i really don't know about the how long part, but i can tell you how to make it grow faster naturally
first of all,if you have split ends, get them trimmed, not cut, every six weeks or every four weeks if they re-appear quickly
if you don't have split ends, just be grateful
anyways, trimming helps hair to breath at the tips okay....and the bestest thing i could tell you,is that you should heat up some olive oil and once a week just put it on your hair roots.theres not much use to apply lots of oil on the hair itself, though it is a good idea if you have weak brittle or rough hair...
anyways, you could do this before sleeping and wash it off the next day..but it should be kept overnight

actually i don't know how you feel about these home treatments otherwise if your mind doesn't say"yuck" try putting yoghurt in your hair for 4 hours wearing a shower cap

the average hair growth is half an inch a month

Biotin suppliments, lots of water, and vitamins work well and always use a good shampoo and conditioner. Only shampoo your roots, and condition your ends. Never getting haircuts works only if you want unhealthy long hair, which is worse than short hair if your trying to grow it out. Go though and cut off all your split ends inbetween hair cuts, that way they can cut off less hair when you get a trim. You can twist your hair in sections so all the ends stick out and go through and cut off the parts that are unhealthy. Avoid styling your hair too much. Blow drying, rubbing your hair with a towel (just ring your hair out and let it air dry), curling and straightening all promote breakage. If you have died hair there a serum called "anti snap" that works well, you can get it at regis salon. Also, try to avoid products with silicones.
