Probably Evanston or Oak Park, both for the same reasons - they're so close to Chicago you can see the Sears Tower in the distance, the "L" trains go directly to both suburbs, making transport easy, and both suburbs have cute downtowns with lots of shops and restaurants.
Evanston is probably more "city-like" - you'd think you were in Chicago, if you didn't know any better. It's a lot of condos and apartments, so it's good for singles (plus Northwestern is nearby, so it's a young community.) Oak Park is more like a traditional suburb, with pleasant houses with lawns, kind of where you'd want to live if you have a family. But both are nice.

This is a toughie. There are many to choose from. North side, probably Evanston, or if you've got the big bucks, Winnetka or Lake Forest. West side suburbs, maybe Naperville or a little farther out is Geneva or St. Charles, which I think is one of the fastest growing areas in Chicagoland right now. South side suburbs, hmmm...I don't know, I don't get down there too often at all to offer a personal opinion.

If you want easy access to Chicago's public transportation system, then I'd go with Evanston or Oak Park. Skokie is really nice too. But the CTA access in Skikie is a bit limited. If you don't mind taking Chicagoland's Metra rail system, there are tons of decent suburbs...I like Vernon Hills, Northbrook, Lincolnwood (also close to Chicago), & Wauconda. It really depends on what your looking for. Have kids? Research safe ares and excellent schools. If you like night life, museums, and things of that nature, stick closer to Chicago. I'm very paritial to Chicago's north side and the northern suburs myself. Good luck!

unsure in the journey that your from the area, if so you probably understand this, if not in step with hazard not yet not in basic terms must you get out of Chicago yet cook dinner usa. Chicago is the costliest yet all of cook dinner county has the 11.5% revenues tax, plus an determination of alternative taxes, motor vehicle stickers, and so on, and so on, and so on you could desire to pay. maximum any suburb has a Metra prepare and you will relatively be interior the city in under half-hour. South Suburbs are outstanding like Tinley, Orland, and so on. West burbs even have some outstanding suburbs like Naperville, DOwners Grove, o.ok.brook, and so on.
