Here is my situation. My parents financial situation isnt the best so it appears that I will be paying for all my college. I have a 4.0, involved in sports and academic clubs to the point of insanity, so worrying about being accepted isnt too bad. I know that I either want to go into Film or Marketing. If I stay home I can go to Uof M for next to nothing cuz of scholarships, but I want to leave the state since Michigan is a wreck. Do I spend the thousands of dollars on a limited film school bachelors program or do I do it at a University which will cost a lot more? Help anyone.

you should go to the state school... at your age, no offense, you are likely to change your mind. at a larger school you will have more options, and besides you said yourself that you have no money. Why cause yourself stress and crazy bills by going out of state. Surely in the entire state there is a univ that has a good film program or at least a decent one that you can do well in so that you can transfer with a scholarship to a better school. Also, with a little time under your belt, you can even opt for one of those apprenticeship programs that are out there. Go to NBC's corporate site and read up on their programs and see what their requirements are.... also go to the website of the national orgs that represent journalists and tv people. They have scholarships too. Good luck!

The University of Michigan is a top flight school. A degree from there is worth a tremendous amount. The film school certificate will not look nearly as good on your resume.

you're too late for classes for this autumn and with a GED your easiest determination particularly is community business enterprise. See in case you will hack it there first before than dropping the money for a 4-365 days.
