WASHINGTON — The United Arab Emirates was expected to purchase two aircraft engine repair firms in the United States.
Officials said that neither the Bush administration nor Congress would block a purchase by the UAE state-owned Dubai Aerospace Enterprise of two U.S. aerospace companies. They said the proposed DAE purchase of Landmark Aviation and Standard Aero Holdings Inc. would not be deemed a security threat.

Don't be too alarmed, feller. Those Emirates are really under our (US) thumb, even more so than Jordan and Egypt. The UAE could be called the USAE (the USA East!). They are doing our bidding in that part of the world and are our most loyal surrogates there. Rewarding them with lucrative deals are totally appropriate and strategically sound.
Pretty soon, the top Halliburton management, including its CEO will be relocated to Dubai in the UAE. Halliburton could become a UAE corporation rather than a US one, in order to maximize their tax advantage and get out under the possible democratic witch hunt. Halliburton runs many of our military infrastructures/services already so two puny aircraft engine repair facilities are nothing.

What's wrong with that? American ports were actually owned by Britain before the UAE tried to buy them, but as soon as an Arab country's involved there's an outcry. Racism, perhaps?

UAE had links to the 9-11 bombing... according to the 9-11 report...
I don't really trust them...
but if it's just "air craft engine repair"... I'm not so sure that's really that big of a deal... I mean I don't like it exactly... but it sounds a lot less harmless than the ports to me?
