Hi, i'm only 17 years old. I'm asian so my hair is natural black. But these days i'm starting to find like 20 or so brown hairs and a couple white ones. Do you know what could be the cause of this and what can i do about it? in diet or lifestyle or ....?

all i could say..is that the cause is stress..I'm 17 too and my hair would change like that and my mom told me it was because of stress. I also have a friend that's 15 and she has gray hairs because of stress also..So what ever it is just relax...or it could be in hereditary and its in ur genes

I had my first white hair at age 16 and it was as long as my longest hair which was below my waist. I modelled until I was 31 and found that wearing no makeup when not in front of the camera and getting good rest, not smoking, not eating crappy food, just whole good cooked food, not much meat, and no fried junk, fast food or candy helped me to keep my skin and hair beautiful along with no heavy drinking or drugs. Pardon me if I sound like a mom.

I have found that there are herbal products that a good acupuncturist (kidney and liver function check up) will supply for you if it is a bother to your self-image to have hair that is not the color you like. Mine is almost all white now. I had been taking some herbs for vision and hair in one capsule with new hair coming in very dark. I stopped taking them because I really don't want dark hair again. The white hair gets millions of compliments, like I never had when it was dark, from strangers everywhere. Dying it is a continual hassle, expensive, can be toxic to your liver, and does not let the natural you be there. If you are beautiful within, it doesn't matter what color your hair is, people will see your inner beauty shining outside and appreciate you for who you are and not what you look like. It is hard to see magazines where everyone has dark hair, lots of makeup everywhere, no wrinkles, no fat, and youthful. Don't let that be your guideline for how you look. Just be natural and more people will be attracted to you where as a phony, made-up, dyed, coiffed to the 9's person is just not as attractive. There is something sublime about someone who is "natural" looking. They are the ones who are self-confident and trustworthy and have nothing to hide. I have found that in my life to be quite true.

Bathe every day so you always smell good, keep you nails filed and clean, clean clothes and a nice trim on your hair. Wear minimal makeup like lipstick or gloss, mascara and blush if you are a girl and wear shadow and light liner for evening. You also won't wake up looking like a raccoon when you wear heavy eye-makeup. There is an old adage that can apply here: "If you always tell the truth, you will never have to remember anything." So be true to yourself not what others think you should be.

you may have epilepsy. My uncle's hair turned gray when he was 17 and it only took a few weeks. Until he went to find out why, he never knew he had epilepsy.
that's the only thing I have ever known to cause someone so young to go gray so fast.
