My 15 months old son is not yet ready to walk. He is still crawling. Is it o.k? If we make him to stand, he simply sits on the floor. What is the ideal age/no. of months for a child to walk or try to walk. I am concerned.

Mine walked at 12 months. But they all develop differently. Don't worry.
As long as he's developing on schedule with other things, its okay to be slow on another.

Your child will walk when he is ready. "statistically" he should be showing some interest about now (some time before 18 months) but he may just be to absorbed in learning other things. Often, especially with boys, they focus on one skill and lag in another...until they learn that first skill.
My daughter showed NO signs of interest in walking until one day at almost 16 months...she got up and walked to greet daddy at the door when he got home. She just wasn't motivated until then.
Ultimately though, if you are really concerned, check with his pediatrician.
Good luck!

Generally doctors begin to get concerned if a baby doesn't walk at 18 months.

However it is a little weird that he won't even stand while holding your hands? Maybe try to get him to do that, either holding your hands or some sort of toy he needs to stand to use (piano, gym, etc). Or a jolly jumper?

He may be a "late bloomer." I have a friend who did not take her first step until she was almost 2 years old. She's perfectly fine today, although she does have scoliosis...which I don't know if that had anything to do with it or not.

Some kids try and rush themselves by trying to walk fast but soon he or she will slow down their pace and start walking.

He will walk when he wants to walk. Do NOT push him because he could end up with bowed legs.
