I am trying to set the timing on my 88 chevy k1500 pickup 350LT engine ecm controlled, it says to set to (zero degrees) but I am wondering if there is a spark advance wire that I have to disconnect first it says not to disconnect the 4wire conector at the distributor on the cowl tag so where would I disconnect the wire?

Look for a black with orange striped wire. This is your electronic advance. Unplug the wire to set the timing.

On electronically controlled distributors, all you should have to disconnect is the coolant temp sensor (at least for initial timing setup). I could be wrong, however, as I haven't owned any TBI Chevy small-blocks. Check your Haynes/Chilton manual (get one if you don't have one).
