My partner dated a woman for a couple of weeks. She approached him a few weeks later and said she was carrying his child. She gave birth 'early'. Some months later he discovered she had approached 3 men before him with the same claim and they all told her to get lost. He paid for a DNA test which came back as a 63% probability of fatherhood but, that was 10 years ago and DNA has come a long way since. How likely is it that it is his child? He doesn't want to ask for another test as she is a bit psycho and he has heard she stabbed a former boyfriend!

DNA tests these days are freeing innocent people who have spent years in prison for crimes they didn't commit. The chances these days of DNA not being right run in the millions.

Tests now are very accurate...but a 63% chance isn't very accurate to be considered a father. Tell him to approach her and go again. That way he will know for sure.

does he have any access to the child? a paternity test can be done through labs online with simple cheek swabs.they can even do testing with hairs. I found a website that explains a little about low probablity test scores

The tests done today are extremely accurate - over 99.8% - and she doesn't have to be a part of it. He just needs a DNA sample from himself and his son.

if he has visitations why can't he take the child and get one. but he has raised this kid for ten years. can he say he does not love this child. do you know what just having the test will say to the kid.

you should never listen to hearsay. she may never have done that. it may be just a vindictive person.

My personal opinion is that he should let it go and consider himself lucky to be out of that relationship. Does he really want to be tied to her for life through a child that's most likely not even his????
