Although my teachers do tell me not to use translation websites, they do work kind of like dictionarys, and i find that using them for just one word at a time, like 'banana', or a short phrase, such as 'I want', works. Does anybody know any sites which work particularly well for this?

words have different meanings. like, the word pet:
pet can be to pet an animal- spanish translation- acariciar
or,
pet to have a pet.-spanish translation- mascota
so if you put something like:
i am going to get a pet tomorrow, it can appear in spanish as any meaning!!!
so you can get your spanish homework wrong!!!
it's better to pay a little attention in class and your next spanish test will prove that you are!!!
if you still want to use a web site...go ahead!!!

You probably want to use a translator because the dictionary takes longer, in which case it s better to use an online dictionary. See

You can also check up on meanings to see whether or not you have the right word and not a homonym.

to be honest, I avoid using net translators... they never do a good work... I think the best option is using a dictionary... it's more reliable...
