No they are wrong. Thanks u is just one hand going down from your chin to the air just like aslpro said only with 1 hand. Signs are different when you live in dif. cities.

your welcome:http://www.aslpro.com/cgi-bin/aslpro/aslpro

Hi. The original sign for "Thank You" is used with TWO hands at the same time. When you sign it quickly and/or informally, one hand is typically used.

Sign for 'thank you': http://www.aslpro.com/main/t/thank.swf

The sign for your welcome is here: http://www.aslpro.com/main/w/welcome.swf

If you want to look up other signs, try these free sign language browers:

As for face and mouth movement:

For "Thank You" - face looks grateful! Mouth makes the movements for a silent 'thank you'

For 'Your Welcome' - face looks exactly like it would if you were saying it with your voice. Perhaps a tad more emphasis using your eyebrows in an upward motion. You mouth does the same thing, just move your mouth in a silent "Welcome" :-)

Good luck and keep at it! :-)
