Or are we just deciding to bring the fight home with us. Truth is thats the bottom line. Will bringing our troops home be the end of it? I don't want Reps and/or Dems standard views. Think for yourselves people. Leave politics out of your answers or just don't bother answering the question. Sorry, just tired of all the finger pointing between parties. B.S. meter is over worked and broken.

Leaving the politics out of it, the United States is going broke. We are financing a war with money provided by communist China. If and when we are broke, how can we fight anybody anywhere? Will all of our former friends come to our aid?

Actually, staying in Iraq is exactly what the terrorists want. They want to financially ruin us. Why do you think the WTC was their target? These people accomplish their desires in the simplest, most basic methods. And Bush fell for it hook, line, and sinker. Restraint was the key to beating them and keeping them as insignificant as possible. By this war in Iraq, we have only bolstered them and increased their numbers.

Nobody seems to consider the way these people operate and their way of thinking. Believe me, they have made it a point to know their enemy. We should have bothered to do the same.

The USSR fell apart due to long the war in Afghanistan. This is where Bin Laden became a terrorist. The same thing is happening to the U.S. in Iraq.

First, our purpose in Iraq is to stabilize the situation so the government can get on it's feet, according to Bush the threats are insurgents from within and Al Queda coming across the border. If the terrorists are coming over the borders then they aren't originating in Iraq.
Bush has set a paradigm of either we stay or we bring everyone home. there are other choices. We could deploy troops in seek-and-destroy missions to wherever these terrorists are coming from. As long as we stay in Iraq they stronger they can get, if we take-out there facilities and training grounds we grind them down. No war was ever won by those that waited for the enemy to come to them. We won WWII by assaulting from the sea and marching into Berlin, not by hanging out on the beach.

Pulling our troops out of Iraq is the only moral thing to do.

Being there will never end the war on terrorism.

The war on terrorism has been going on since the beginning of time, and it will continue until the end of time.

Why are we getting our troops involved in the middle of a civil war that may go on for decades and perhaps even centuries?

It's just not worth us getting involved in other country's problems.

Give Iraq to the Iraqis and let them protect their own country.

Yes, protect our borders, and protect our closest neighbor's borders but leave the rest of the world alone, except to provide humanitarian aid when asked for it.

This is the American way, not the pushy, torturing country we've been displaying ourselves as, for the last 6 years.

As long as the U.S. govt. continues to export terrorism on innocent people around the world there will be another person willing to attack Americans. Pulling out of Iraq will neither stop nor start terrorists attacks. Remember Gunny there is no evidence at all that Iraq had anything to do with the WTC coming down. Most of the alleged hijackers were Saudi Arabians. Should we bomb and then occupy them? Terrorism is a response to other terrorism. Violence only brings more violence. Terrorism is defined by those being terrorized.

The terrorist are going to strike whether the US forces are there or not. Right now it is easier for them to strike US forces. Bringing the US forces out of Iraq won't bring the terrorist to the US they will be busy fighting amongst themselves for a little while. There are already allot of Islamic terrorist organizations in the US and if they wanted to attack they could very easily.

Wish the politicians stop fighting each other and do what best for this country.

Pulling out of Iraq right now will not stop/end the war with the terrorist. It will embolden the Terorist and will make them want to do more damages to the Iraqies and to US (and to the World).

Theory, you give an inch, they will take a miles. The terorist are tying up a lot of resources and prestige. If WE lose it will be humiliating to US, if the Terorist lose, it will be humiliating to them.

Which would you prefer?

To end war with terrorist wont stop by terrorizing them because thats the game they are playing and they are good with that. To stop both must yield and start not to fight back. Sometimes we have to swallow our pride but not all of it. Did we forget that maybe or somehow being a racist is just an act that triggers terrorism.

No...pulling out of Iraq will not end the war on terrorism, but either will staying in Iraq. By pulling out of Iraq we allow our military to focus on protecting us here at home while being ready to be deployed when needed. The further we tie them up in a country that is bent on killing themselves, the more we lessen our ability to respond elsewhere.

No it won't. But at some time we need to bring our soldiers home, and redirect to another region. We're like a fish attractant in Iraq. Too many terrorists are assembling there to kill Americans.
