Darling, this is not going to be your favorite answer at all... but im going to have to give you the straight truth.
I've been straightening my afro-curly hair for about six years now. I straighten it every day, religiously. And every trip to the mall, i search for the perfect hair product; every trip to the spa, i search for the perfect treatment.
If your problem is simply split ends, than buy an oil, such as Garnier Fructis Straight Oil (im not sure if thats the actual name, but it will be obvious...), it comes in a round squirt bottle and you simply deposit a small bit into your hands and apply it to ONLY your ends. Too far up and your hair will become greasy.
As you go on straightening, you'll notice fly-aways like up at your roots where the hair has broken off. Sorry babe, that part is unfixable.
Hope i helped
H.

Cut it off and start over. Either that or stop straightening it AND blowdrying it. If you are really that concerned about your hair breaking off, you shouldn't care about what it looks like when you're fixing it.

You gotta pay the price (we all do at one time or another).
Get the dead stuff cut off (professionally so it looks good) and use good quality deep conditioners regularly until it grows back in healthier.
And change your hair routine so this doesn't happen again - its a real pain (trust a girl that knows).

just go to a regular supermarket. go to the beauty/hair aisle. and there is a special shampoo that is supposed to heal your damaged hair back to normal. good luck! : )

Wear your hair down as much as possible, brush your hair after you blow dry it a little, and stop straghtening your hair.
