Prom is in about a little over a month and i was thinking of getting extensions but after getting advice and researching it i figured extensions are too risky for such a short event. I have a beautiful red dress that ties around my neck. Many people have said that i should have an updo hairstyle or one of those hairstyles with the ponytail to the side. the problem is i've searched some sites and they dont seem to have pictures of the right hairstyle. so if anybody has any advice or pictures on how i should get my hair done (note: my hair is only an inch below my shoulders so i dont have much to work with. at least thats what i think). that would be greatly appreciated =]

*sorry if my description was a little too long. ii need as much help as i can get.

Wear your hair down in soft spiral curls. All the girls get updos, so it's something different that will definetly "wow" your friends. It's classy, elegant, and romantic.

prom is the best time to get COMPLETELY dolled up so go completely full out!
since u have a tie up dress, you dont wanna cover that up so go for a really cute updo or a half-up-half-down. sinnce the dress red, you can curl the lower half of your hair and put the otehr half up in a ponytail and then tuck a red flower behind your ear to match! your stylist will most deff help you with this.
i suggest you have a consultation with your stylist before you actually do yuor hair beceause on the day of your prom you're really too excited to think and you'll just take the first idea you hear without really thinking about it SO talk with ur stylist, try out some ideas and figureout which one you really love for prom!
dont forget your nails and toes and makeup!

Depending on the shape of your face, you have plenty of choices. Your medium length hair can be curled (something like Shirley Temple) but a bit looser. That way, you can see the halter around your neck.

If you wouldn't mind a slightly tropical look, you could straighten your hair with a gentle bump to it and add a flower by your ear.

I recommend an up-do with curls hanging down around your face. Also, consider going to a stylist to see what they could do for you that day (they may have different options than the sites).
